The Anairo Media Network, which operates under the name Anairo Media, is a podcast and blog network run by technical geek and hobbyist, Donovan Adkisson, of Adkisson Enterprises, LLC. The network began operation on June 30, 2011 with the launch of SouthGeek, a technical news blog and podcasting site that delivers the tech news from a southern point of view. A weekly podcast, The SouthGeek Ramble & Review, is produced where a group of pundits have a round table discussion of the latest tech news. The pundits are typically from the southern region of the country. A second site that is part of the network is Tifton Talks, which is a local news and events site for Tifton, GA and the surrounding area. Tifton Talks also has a randomly produced podcast called Tifton Talks Today.
To round out the network, the following sites are also included: ReGnosis, My Own Doubt and Wiseguys and Renegades.
History
Tifton Talks originated as a discussion forum site running the SMF (Simple Machines) forum software in 2006. The site was purchased in 2009 and revamped to run the vBulletin forum software. Due to the push to popular social media sites such as Facebook, traffic to the site dwindled and the site was completely revamped to a blog and podcast destination in 2011.
SouthGeek.me was launched in June 2011 as a technical news blog and podcast destination, written and produced from a southern point of view.
My Own Doubt was launched as a personal blog and podcast destination for Donovan where he blogs and produces podcasts about his take on the various events that are shaping our world.
ReGnosis and Wiseguys and Renegades were created as philosophy and general rant blog sites respectively by Lea Adkisson, Donovan’s wife.
The name Anairo holds special significance as it is the name of Donovan and Lea’s daughter, but spelled backwards. Donovan started using the name in the late 90s when he was working as a computer consultant under the company name Anairo Technologies.
